Three Parallel Rivers Protected AreasThree Parallel Rivers Protected Areas is located in the north-west of Yunnan Province, the upper reaches
of three great rivers, the Yangtze (Jinsha), Mekong (Lanchang), and Salween (Nu) run roughly parallel for
some 170 kilometers, forming the unique natural wonder called Three Parallel Rivers in the world. The
area is a place with rich natural resources and unique landscape, the National Park is a typical area in
possession of both high mountains and deep valleys, and therefore becomes a comprehensive expression
of geological and topographical diversity, biodiversity, landscape diversity, and national and cultural diversity
. The site is also one of the epicenters of biodiversity in the world as well as the most important gene pool
of plants and animals in China.

 

Day 01 Arrive in
Chengdu

Arrive in Chengdu. Transfer to the hotel upon arrival. Overnight at hotel. (no meal)

Day 02 Chengdu-Dali


In the morning, take a morning flight to
Dali, a historically and culturally famous
city of China, which is renowned for her
historical interests. Dali City stands
against Cangshan Mountain in the west
and adjoins Erhai Lake in the east, and
is embraced by undulating hills around.
Take a cruise on Erhai Lake, meaning
“sea shaped like an ear”. In a sunny day,
the crystal waters of Erhai Lake and the
snow mantled Cangshan Mount radiate
with each other. Then, visit to the Three
Pagodas of Chongsheng Monastery
,
1km away from north of Dali, which are
classic Buddhist pagodas of the Tang Dynasty and are regarded as the symbol of Dali. From distance, the three
pagodas are like three huge pens, standing among the continuous green mountains and emerald fields. Walk
around the Dali Ancient Town, characterized by the dwelling houses of the Bai Minority, which can be dated back
to the year 1382 during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and rank as one of the most noted historical and cultural
cities in China. Overnight at hotel. (B,L,D)

 

Day 03 Dali-Liuku


The morning is free to explore the city. Then drive (220KM, 4.5hours) to LiuKu, where the Nujiang Lisu Prefecture
seated. It is located in the remote gorge of Nu River, Yunnan province, surrounded by great mountains.
Sightseeing in Liuku. Overnight at hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 04 Liuku-
Gongshan


Drive along Nu river from Liuku to Gongshan (240KM, 6.5 hours), on the way visit the beautiful gorge and local
villages. You will cross the rope bridges, one kind of old bridges preserved on Nu River. Overnight at hotel. (B,L,D)
  

Day 05 Gongshan-
BingZhongLuo Village
-Dimaluo (1850m)


Drive (30KM, 45min) to BingZhongLuo, visit the first bend of Nu River, small trek to visit PuHua Lamaism Temple,
Chongding Catholic Church. Then drive to Dimaluo Tibet village. Overnight in guesthouse. (B,L,D)
   

Day 06 Dimaluo-Trek
to Balagong Pasture


Trek 6.5 hours (16km) to Balabeng Pasture (3700m), via Baihanluo Village (2400m). Overnight Camp. (B,L,D)

Day 07 Balagong
Pasture-Trek to
Sewalongba Valley
(3600m)


Trek 17km (6.5 hours) to Sewalongba Valley, today we will cross
Benggu Pasture (4000m), then trek down to Sewalongba Valley.
Overnight camp. (B,L,D)

 

Day 08 Sewalongba
Valley-Trek to
Luolongjialong
(3250m)

 

Trek 16km (6 hours) to Luolongjialong pass, Today we will cross
Selalaka pass (4250m), arrival Luolongjialong pass. Overnight camp.

Day09 Luolongjialong
-Trek to Cizhong-drive
to Deqin (3400m)

 

Today we trek 6.5 hours to Cizhong village, a Tibet village beside the Mekong River. Visit the church, and then
drive 3 hours to Deqin. Overnight at Hotel (B,L,D)

Day10 Deqin-
Mingyong Glacier-
Deqin  


We are going to visit the Feilai Monastery, which is located around 10 km away from the Deqin Town. Built in 1614
, it was an important monastery on the Yunnan-Tibet Road, and an
excellent place to enjoy the spectacular view of Meili Snow Mountain. If it
is possible, we will ride a horse or hike to have a very close visit to
Mingyong Glacial. Overnight in Hotel. (B,L,D)

Day11 Deqin-
Zhongdian


Drive to Zhongdian (6-7 hours). On the way, we will see: Mud-pottery
workshop in Nixi village, Town of Benzilan (an important transfer town
between Yunnan and Tibet), the First Bend of Golden-sand River (Upper
part of Yangtze River), Baimang Snow Mountain, Welcoming Pagodas
of Deqin. You may also enjoy the view of meadow, Tibetan villages and
the scenery on the way. Overnight in Hotel. (B,L,D)

Day12 Zhongdian


Pay a visit to Songzanlin Lamasery, the largest Tibetan Buddhist
Temple in Yunnan Province, and also one of the famous monasteries in
the Tibetan area. The temple was made after the Potala Palace in
Lhasa, hence it has another name “Second Potala Palace”, a spiritual
place that invites you to discover the mystery and traditions of Tibetan
Buddhism. Then, pay a visit to Dukezong Ancient Town. Dukezong
means “City of White Stone” in Tibetan, engendered an epithet as “City
of Moonlight”. The market turns out to be pretty amazing. It carries
almost everything Tibetan you can think of. The following time is free.

Day13 Depart from
Zhongdian


Transfer to Zhongdian airport for flight back. (B)

Rain season is in Jul, Aug. We don’t accept booking during July, August and winter (Dec – Mar). It means that this tour is only available for Apr,
May, June, Sep, Oct and Nov. The best season is in April and November. The mountain areas get much more rain than city average level.

3. In Spring, if the mountain pass is blocked for heavy snow (normally the snow will be melt till late June), the luggage is carried by porter
instead of horse, the supplement is see above**.
